Testing out the Asymmetrical Spinnaker on the River Orwell
—————————————————–
After 12 days in Italy with Donna I’m relocating to Guernsy to meet up with the Roving Spirit
Goodbye Tuscany, the Italian Riviera and Florence. The Mediterranean I’ll see you again soon.
Big travel day. Started the day in Florence seeing Michelangelo’s David, incredible, inspiring and magnificent. Then a quick taxi ride to the airport transfer in Munich, barely made my flight to Charles de Gaulle where I took the metro into Paris Montparnasse. There I caught the high speed TGV to Rennes. Tomorrow I have a 45 minute train to St Malo where I catch the ferry to Guernsey. I should arrive in St Peters port about the same time as Mike sails in on the Roving Spirit.

Sept 25th, Another travel day. Took the train from Rennes to St. Malo. St. Malo is a small city on a point that is surrounded by a large stone wall. From here I took the ferry to Guernsey. The boat was not in the slip, as Mike had to move to QE2 harbor due to huge tides. A quick text to Mike and he popped up in the bar I was having a beer at, Pier 17, right next to his laundry work!Tomorrow we head for Brest France to position for the crossing of Biscay Bay. Im excited and a bit worried about the big wide ocean.

Mitch is on board and working his shift. Capn Persnickety ( Arnstein Mustad ) is keeping a watchful eye sans pirate patch.
Here we are arriving in Brest.

Relaxing in Brest.
We are waiting out a huge storm in Bay of Biscay. Can’t leave yet so enjoying the local life. Stay tuned for a new blog soon.
Looking forward to seeing how things go !!!!
